Gastritis 

Inflammation of the stomach lining, gastritis, is usually the first signal that all is not well with our diet in particular and our health in general.

The stomach lining is normally fairly thick, 3-4 cm, and lined with a layer of thick mucus to protect it from the strong pH of 1.5 - 2.5 of the hydrochloric acid, HCl, used for digestion and protection against pathogens (bacteria, viruses, fungus/Candida and parasites). Excessive secretions of acids from stress and anxiety, or even a reduction in acid production giving the pathogenic organisms the upper hand, gives rise to the symptoms of gastritis.
