EndometriosisThis is the second most common gynaecological disorder requiring hospital treatment. And, as with most other conditions on unknown cause or recognised cure, medical science continues to throw powerful hormonal drugs with physically and psychologically damaging side effects at it, as well as perform useless surgery without ever halting its progress, or stopping it from coming back. Endometriosis is a condition where the lining of the womb also finds itself in other places in the body. It behaves in much the same way as in the womb being affected by hormones and periods etc. The damage to tissues which gives rise to endometriosis may be a reaction to pathogenic organisms (bacteria, viruses, fungus/Candida and parasites), toxins such as metals (arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury etc), chemicals (pesticides, herbicides, preservatives etc), radiation (DECT phones, mobiles and masts, air travel etc) and drugs (NSAIDs, steroids etc and including those for fertility). The treatment of endometriosis is to address the causative factors and to supply the essential tools for reduction of inflammation and proper healing and regeneration of healthy tissue, which include amino acids, vitamins, minerals and especially the omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, as well as probiotics, soluble and insoluble fibre from fruits, vegetables and whole grains, not forgetting adequate amounts of water, a regular daily exercise regime and sunlight, when possible.
