EczemaSkin is a very important outlet for detoxification products when the liver is overwhelmed by the amount of work it has to do in order to keep the body safe from harmful chemical products. These products such as waste products, including urine, are irritants and may give rise to inflammation from within the body. The conventional use of steroids and antibiotics in topical creams or systemic pills is the treatment of choice for eczema. This leaves the child and eventually, the adult, with horrendous permanent scarring. If systemic steroids had been used, there will be a host of problems ranging from immune system suppression to hormonal imbalance and psychological issues. The itchy red patches of eczema may be a reaction to a number of things including infection with pathogenic organisms (bacteria, viruses, fungus/Candida and parasites), toxins from metals such as aluminium, cadmium, mercury and arsenic, chemicals such as pesticides, herbicides and preservatives, radiation such as mobile phones and masts, allergens such as pollen and perfume, food allergy/intolerance such as dairy and wheat, hormonal imbalance as well as topical irritation from soap powders, skin and hair care products and so on. Eczema is best treated by addressing the causative agent and by feeding the skin with the correct amino acids, vitamins minerals and especially, the essential fatty acids, both systemically and topically. Moisturisers are also essential but all petroleum products must be avoided as they tend to aggravate the itching and redness of the eczema.
