Dermatitis 

Literally translated, dermatitis simply means inflammation of the skin.     
Perhaps the term should be sufficient to describe a problem in skin where a cause must be found and a suitable treatment given, but dermatitis is only used when the exact diagnosis is not certain.

Skin is recognised as the outside extension of the gut and it is a very efficient way for the body to dump waste and toxic products when the liver is working overtime to detoxify this waste.
